Loss of Ear (novella)
by Hu Xuewen
About This Novel
At noon in autumn, Zuo Shi lost his ears. It was not the ears that grew on both sides of his head, but his fiancée's ears. The ears were a beautiful girl with a round face, as if the ears were molded. Although she was beautiful, she did not have the vanity that beautiful girls often have. She was honest and kind, and never made her father angry. The lame shepherd had two sisters above her ears, both of whom died in infancy. The lame shepherd wanted to be safe, so the latter two were called "Ears" and "Ears". The sheepherder didn't waste his efforts, the ears and nose were indeed full-bodied, and she became a big girl. However, the nose and Er Er had different personalities. She was naturally vain, and she named herself Ruth when she had some independent opinions, while Er Er silently accepted any mark her father put on her body. In one month, Zuo Shi and Er Er were going to get married. In order to pay for the wedding, the two went to the city to sell potatoes.
