He can't speak, but he can hear all the ridicule and warmth in the world. Knock the wooden fish once when you are happy and four times when you are sad. Abandoned in a poor village in the 1960s, he learned to use the sound of wooden fish to make a living for himself. A deaf old man adopted him, and the faintly heard knocking became the only response in the world. Later, the wooden fish was replaced with a drum. I would beat it when I was hungry, when I was anxious, and even when I wanted to go out. All the neighbors heard it, but after the old man left, only the sound of drums accompanied him in the whole world. Day after day, year after year. He was still naked, still unable to speak, still banging. This is a silent life and a deafening life.
