The Soul of the Yellow River
About This Novel
My name is Chen Jiu, and I am the last corpse collector in Laohekou Village. Grandpa left me three rules: don't fish for red clothes, don't fish for corpses in water, and never touch corpses locked with iron chains. But the upstart Wang Hu spent 200,000 in cash and forced me to break the precept. That night, the sky was as dark as ink, and the Yellow River poured in; That night, the female corpse opened her eyes and the bully went crazy; That night, I opened the abdominal cavity of the female corpse and found a bloody jade pendant with the word "" engraved on it... The truth about the human sacrifice thirty years ago surfaced as the chains broke.

Originally I just wanted to take a look, but ended up falling straight into it.
I read the first 11 chapters in one go and my scalp was numb! The author takes the profession of "corpse collector" to a new level. The "three no-fishing" rule established by grandpa directly makes the suspense full. The part where Wang Hu spends money to force the protagonist to break the precept is simply a stroke of genius. It perfectly combines the greed of human nature with the weirdness of the Yellow River. The most amazing thing is the "bloody jade pendant", which directly pulls out the human sacrifice case thirty years ago. This foreshadowing is buried too deep!
There's something about this plot, but I'm a little scared...
The beginning of this book is really gripping. But to be honest, watching the protagonist go into the water to fish out the female body in red made me feel terrified. The author wrote about the "fear of the unknown" very realistically, especially when he mentioned that there might be "things" under the water, it gave me goosebumps.
