About This Novel
I got a call from the city hall and found out I had gotten married three months ago. Her husband is Lucas Monteiro, the most mysterious billionaire in South America. But I have never met him, and I don't remember signing the marriage contract. What's even weirder is that the signature is indeed mine, and the memory of that night is blank. I pursued the truth, only to find that surveillance had been deleted, witnesses were missing, the apartment had been broken into, and I received a strange text message warning: "Don't ask any more questions. It's for your own good." In order to find out who controlled my life, I was forced to get close to Lucas and live in the Monteiro estate. Hidden there between the forest and the lake, the metal interior door, the sound-absorbing carpet, the panic button, and the low growl at night under the full moon all reminded me: This family hides secrets. Until that night, I met a black wolf by the lake. It had the exact same amber eyes as my husband. And the crescent birthmark on the back of my hand lit up when it came closer.
