About This Novel

In 1847, under the glitzy curtain of the July Monarchy in Paris, class was clouded, the aristocracy controlled everything, and the killings and the truth were buried deep in the darkness. Fourteen years ago, Isabella's father died in a drowning case in an unexplained room after being unjustly imprisoned for having access to aristocratic secrets - a closed cell with no water or source of water, but the deceased did indeed drown and all doubts were completely buried by the power. Not long after his father died unjustly, his mother took poison and committed suicide in despair. The young sister was fostered in her aunt's home. When she grew up, she obsessed over the rich and powerful. She was indifferent and alienated from Isabella, who was determined to pursue the truth, and her closest relatives became strangers. A rusty copper key engraved with water ripples is the only clue left by his father. When Isabella witnessed the nobles using exactly the same weird methods to assassinate civilians and create "accidents" on the street, the dust-laden obsession was completely awakened. She concealed her name and sneaked into the Royal Saint-Germain Theater, which was full of secrets. She started out as a low-level stage assistant and became a playwright with her talent. She wrote unjust cases and class crimes into the script "The Mask of Doom". But as soon as the script came out, it offended the upper class and the powerful, and received frantic suppression and death threats. What's even more terrifying is that a series of secret room drowning cases occurred one after another in the theater. The deceased were all insiders of his father's old case. Isabella teamed up with her close friends to crack the secret room conspiracy and search for evidence in a murderous attempt. However, they encountered a desperate situation in which witnesses were wiped out and physical evidence was destroyed, and they were even secretly betrayed by their loved ones. She broke through the layers of hypocrisy and conspiracy, tore open the bloody truth behind the curtain, and single-handedly, in the decaying darkness, vindicated her father.
