About This Novel
Far away from the remote north, there is a small village called Huangmitun. This is an area enclosed with sealing materials, and the hustle and bustle of industry and post-industrial life rises in the infinite distance. In this village, there are no political parties, no political power, no laws, no schools, no disputes, and no evil deeds. People rely on customs and morals to guide their lives. In the novel, four girls are selected as representatives of the villagers, and the period from Laba to the New Year is selected as a specific life paragraph. Traditional folk customs such as cooking Laba porridge, washing rice, steaming rice cakes, and killing New Year pigs in the countryside are selected as the background. Marriage exchange, falling in love, recognizing the godmother, and seeing the immortal are regarded as scattered events, and the lives of a group of people in a village are slowly and orderly expressed. The novel strips away the elements of modern life and production, jumps back to the Neolithic Age, reproduces the original appearance of human life in the era without written records, shows the spiritual trajectory of human beings in the initial stage, and promotes the passion and yearning for primitive life.
