This book is the first part of Stefansson's "Heaven and Hell" trilogy, which won the Italian Grinzana Botari Rattus Literary Award. A heavy snowstorm, a boy's three days and three nights, the ancient and charming world of Iceland a hundred years ago. The boy and his partner, Bart, who loves to read, go out to sea with the cod fishing fleet. Before leaving, Barthes was so fascinated by reciting the poems of Milton's "Paradise Lost" that he forgot to bring waterproof clothes. As a result, he encountered a heavy snowstorm on the way and froze to death on the boat. With great grief and confusion, the boy set out that night and trudged for two days and two nights in the snowy seaside valley to return the book to the cafe on behalf of his friend. He has decided that after returning the book, he will reunite with his friends in death. A timeless book about life's grand subjects, realities written with heavenly poetry.
