I loved this story so much that I wanted to leave a trace. How lucky I am to encounter this story. I even feel that I did not choose to read this book, but this book chose me. I actually got a glimpse of myself in the clues of the author's words, and a soul resonance arose in the layers of analysis. Even though I am so different from the protagonist, I actually feel that we are all the same. This story is like a hurricane. I am like the wreckage left behind after the hurricane has swept away. There is a sense of order in the chaos. I was sweating profusely under the scorching sun. Someone gave me a bottle of water and I drank it. My trachea hurt, but I felt soothed and at peace. It's hard to describe this wonderful reading experience. I couldn't help but feel happy and even relieved that I could read this book.
Why call a small town a title writer?
The town in the novel is in Japan, but the town I saw is in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The protagonist in the novel is a proud man who strives to balance the gap between his self-perception and the expectations of his parents and teachers. However, I saw the hard-working single generation who shouldered all the expectations of his parents. When he was in school, he studied day and night and was compared with his grades and schools. At work, he was compared with his workplace and his ability to make money.

I originally thought this was a novel about young people in small towns overcoming regional discrimination and counterattacking in big cities to inspire their growth, but suddenly a theme about mental health came up. Several high-level intellectuals who stood out from small towns/small cities, and were regarded by everyone as "promising children from other families", had their own painful experiences growing up, which resulted in them still suffering more or less psychological torture as adults... The most typical one was a top student in the competition, a top student who studied in the United States, and was a role model in the eyes of teachers and classmates. But how could parents and teachers believe that such a person would be depressed and even committed suicide several times. He had to return to China to cultivate himself in the countryside and let go of all pressure to find peace. The college classmate of this top student was the county-level science champion that year, but he has always been troubled by family values that favor sons over daughters. Although I am already a teacher in a high school competition class, I still feel resentful about the fact that I missed out on the top 2 university because of my strength, so I treat my son less like a mother and more like a teacher. Although the male protagonist was able to relieve himself, he suffered from paroxysmal headaches, which was not cured or relieved until he met his soulmate, the female protagonist. The heroine from a small town in southern Zhejiang is in a slightly better situation. She is the type that I am familiar with. Girls have been taught by their parents since childhood that girls should be self-reliant, better than boys, and earn face for their parents who only raised one girl. Even if they get a Ph. It's really beautiful. I don't have enough words, but I can feel what the author wants to express. It can make me think about reality and at the same time feel helpless about reality.
I like this story very much. I read it very slowly. I hope it ends later. There are some fragments that make me feel like I have seen my sensitive self. The emotions in it are described very delicately. I hope there will be a follow-up story.
