Gao Xiaosheng and the talented and fierce saint Lin Zhao are Lin Jinlan's classmates. Which school? Jiangsu Journalism College. This school in Wuxi was a popular "cadre school" at the time and was not part of the "academic system." Most of the students are from Jiangsu and Zhejiang (Gao Xiaosheng is from Wujin, Jiangsu, and Lin Zhao is from Suzhou, Jiangsu). Admissions are based on knowledge and talent regardless of age or academic qualifications. The school initially planned to train and accept Taiwanese cadres. School started in July 1949 and ended in May 1950, when the "Resist U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea" occurred and the school was closed. Among the classmates who later became somewhat famous were Lu Fuwei, Fang Zhongfu, and Lin Chuping.
