Keep Away from Water
About This Novel
Chen Mo, an abandoned baby who was abandoned next to a trash can seventeen years ago, grew up picking up trash and lived in a utility room that was about to collapse. His only tokens were a piece of black jade engraved with the word "Mo" and a yellowed piece of paper with seven words written on it - "Keep away from water, avoid the full moon." He thought it was just a superstitious instruction left by some irresponsible mother. Until that evening, Lao Zhou, the shoe repairman at the end of the alley, floated up out of thin air in front of his eyes, and a green scale that should not belong to humans appeared on the back of his neck. Immediately afterwards, Lao Zhou tore off his own face in front of him. Under that skin was a face without pupils, a face that belonged to an old god thousands of years ago who should have been crucified at the bottom of the river. And the old god knelt down and called him hoarsely-- "Young Master." Only then did Chen Mo realize that the seventeen years of life he had picked up were just the thinnest layer of ice above the water. Under the water, something had been waiting for him for a long, long time. "Keep Out of Water" - He is not an abandoned son, he is a hidden disaster.
