About This Novel
Meng Zhen, the daughter of a modern wealthy family, died unexpectedly and suddenly, and her soul traveled back to ancient times during the famine years, and she became an old woman from the Chu family who had just lost her husband, favored boys over girls, and was mean-spirited. When she opened her eyes, she saw a room full of skinny children crying for money, a partial son, a lazy daughter-in-law, and a selfish uncle. The whole family gathered together and forced her to sell her poor granddaughter Daya for food! As soon as Meng Zhen took over, she fell out on the spot: protecting her daughter, doting on her granddaughter, punishing lazy children, tearing up the poisonous wife, and punishing anyone who caused trouble! From the evil mother-in-law that everyone detested, she became the head of the house that the whole family respected and the whole village relied on. During the famine years, she led her family to eat well and live a stable life!

She suppressed this thought and did not say it out loud. She only said to Chu Laidi: "Go and call the escort guard Shen, and ask him to ask the people who were on guard duty on the south side last night one by one, who they saw and what they said between Xu and Hai hours last night." Chu Laidi responded, turned around, walked two steps, stopped, turned around and said, "Mom, when Chu Shun left, I saw him talking to Fang San." After saying this, she didn't stop anymore, and the footsteps walked away. Meng Zhen stood outside the shed and recited these words in her heart. The voices from all over the camp were still there, and someone was shouting in the distance about the number of supplies today.
