About This Novel

Content description: A story about the personal experience of an elder I admire most. She was born in 1929 during the Republic of China. Her ancestral home was Puyang, Henan. Her father loved gambling, and her mother was very virtuous, hard-working and uncomplaining, and was often beaten and scolded by her father. She and her mother begged for a living on the street since she was a child, often without enough to eat. She experienced the pursuit of the Japanese invaders and the 1942 famine in Puyang, Henan. Her mother fainted from hunger and died on the way to escape the famine. Her 5-year-old brother was afraid of crying on his mother, so he was found and rescued by well-wishers. At a young age, she was forced by life to marry and have children. Later, she and her husband both became members of the Communist Party! Contribute to the revolution. She has four sons and two daughters and is happy in her later years.
