Cleanse and Explode

About This Novel
During the reign of Guangxu, Jia Degui, the great official of the Qing Dynasty in the capital, was given "Jia Baodu" as a gift. He was short, thick, and had a big belly. He lived a prosperous life by being "shameless". He was greedy for money, lustful and greedy for immortality. He treated the inspection and administration as a feast for making money, and became the most absurd joke in the official circles of the late Qing Dynasty. "Qingqi Explosive Belly" takes its absurd experiences as the main line and uses hilarious touches to tear away the fig leaf of officialdom. When Jia Baodu was inspecting southern Sichuan, he was tricked by Qian Shaobao, the magistrate of Wubao Town, into using rotten unripe blood oranges to turn them into "immortality fruits that ripen once in seven years." Three years later, he was deceived by Fushun County Magistrate Zhou Shanren with a "magic sesame bottle" disguised as moldy pastry. He mistakenly thought that he had broken the rule of "eating alone" and that was why the magic was ineffective. He actually ordered Zhou Shanren to be beaten two hundred times, and finally went completely crazy. He held an empty wooden box in a daze, picked up rotten fruits on the streets and used them as fairy fruits. He knelt down to collect money to "redeem fairy fruits" for his former subordinates. However, he was deceived again by Taoist Priest Qingxu using sugar well water as "immortal jade dew", but he still refused to realize it. The novel is full of laughs, and the absurd scenes directly touch people's hearts and are ironic to the bone. In the end, Jia Baodu was backlashed by greed and stupidity. His wife and concubines were separated, his family was destroyed, and he became a crazy beggar, and finally ended up in the heavy snow. The work is free from obscurity and preaching. It hides corruption in the officialdom and sinister people in the hilarious plot. The farce of Jia Baodu is the tragedy of the times. It is a hearty read. After laughing, you will understand the true meaning of "the greedy will lose". It is a satirical masterpiece that you can't put down.
