Today I am here to recommend a book to you again. The book I recommend today is the Assassin's Ambition, a short story by the author of "Zenkenbei Ninfu Tie". I discovered this book after the author gave out a monthly ticket red envelope. I went to read it when I had nothing to do. I found that the author's writing is really beautiful, but the number of words is a bit short. I am not familiar with the background of that era. I was not very sincere at first, but now I can only say that it is really good. At the end of the Warring States Period in Japan, the political situation was chaotic and the heroes were divided. It was an era full of conspiracies. Our protagonist, Kenbei, is a wandering ronin. He has no family, no fiefdom, no salary... His entire source of livelihood is only one - killing people with superb swordsmanship in exchange for a pitiful reward. At the beginning of the book, Kenbei and his ninja friend Hitobi teamed up to kill six samurai of the Ieyasu family in exchange for the bounty of the Sanada family as a source of income for the two of them. After killing five samurai, the remaining samurai leader took out his musket and wanted to kill Kenbei, but unexpectedly was blocked by Kenbei's sword, and then received the lunch box. While searching for their trophies, the ninja Hitobi found a letter from the emperor to the Toyotomi family. The content of the letter was that the Toyotomi family asked Sanada Yukimura to come out to deal with Tokugawa Ieyasu. The two were worried that Sanada Yukimura would be poisoned by the ninjas of the Tokugawa family, so they rushed to Mount Kudo, where Sanada Yukimura lived, and the following story began. The author's characters are well described, for example, in the first chapter The man yawned and breathed out a bad smell. He is tall and tall, with a starry face and a broken bamboo hat on his head. The gray coarse cloth on his body was already in many tatters. He had a straw in his mouth and his eyes were indescribably decadent. There is a samurai sword without any decoration on the waist, and the scabbard has large patches of paint peeling off. On the feet of a pair of straw sandals, the styles of the left and right feet are actually different. When I saw this, a man like this naturally came to mind. The characters fighting in the book are written by the author as if the characters are fighting right in front of your eyes. Finally, I wish more people will read and like the author's book.
