About This Novel

Prince Ning's Mansion maintains a group of secret guards. The origins are diverse. Some were poached from the top of the killer list, some were on the run, and some were picked up along the way. Prince Ning is not particular about hiring people, he only accepts those who are capable. A group of people were crammed into a dark room, sharing food and accommodation, going on missions, and receiving monthly payments. Some people complain that the monthly salary is low, some complain that their partners talk too much, and some are conscientious model workers. Occasionally they quarrel, occasionally they fight, and occasionally they block each other's swords. The days went by like this. Until the wind noise outside became more and more serious, and the dynasty was in turmoil, Prince Ning seemed to trust this group of careless secret guards so much that he even had thoughts about that position. The secret guards all know that the good times are numbered. As for what happened later-- Prince Ning's Mansion is indeed gone. Some people died as a result, but more secret guards scattered into the rivers and lakes, each living his own life. Only occasionally, when the wind shakes the tree, someone will think of the tree covered with red cloth strips. I think of the heavy snowfall that winter night in Beijing. Think of someone. But that's all. After all, the secret guard can never look back.
