Water Margin (part 1 and 2)
by (ming Dynasty) Shi Naian Luo Guanzhong
About This Novel
"Water Margin", also known as "Water Margin", "Water Margin of Loyalty" and "Water Margin", is a representative work of heroic and legendary novels in Chinese classical chapter novels. This novel describes the story of one hundred and eight heroes led by Song Jiang during the Huizong period of the Northern Song Dynasty, who rose up in Liangshan to revolt, accepted recruitment, and fought everywhere. The Liangshan heroes depicted in the novel have vivid personalities and full images, reaching a very high artistic level. Therefore, it is highly praised by us as one of the "Four Great Masterpieces" of Chinese classical novels. "Water Margin" was re-created by Shi Naian and Luo Guanzhong in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties on the basis of widely circulated folk tales, scripts and operas. The "Water Margin" published by the People's Literature Publishing House is based on the 100-chapter version of "Mr. Li Zhuowu's Criticism of the Water Margin" published by Rong Yutang in the Ming Dynasty. In addition to adding new punctuation marks, the compiled version also provides necessary annotations for difficult words and dialects. This is a convenient and reliable version that is very suitable for readers. Now we have invited famous front-line Chinese teaching teachers to design a curriculum for the original book based on the course objectives and actual teaching experience of reading the whole book, so that student readers can more easily grasp the essence of the original work, effectively improve their ability to read classic novels, and enrich their own cultural literacy.
