About This Novel
"Water Margin", also known as "Water Margin", "Water Margin of Loyalty" and "Water Margin", is a representative work of heroic and legendary novels in Chinese classical chapter novels. This novel describes the story of one hundred and eight heroes led by Song Jiang during the Huizong period of the Northern Song Dynasty, who rose up in Liangshan to revolt, accepted recruitment, and fought everywhere. The Liangshan heroes depicted in the novel have vivid personalities and full images, reaching a very high artistic level. "Water Margin" was re-created by Shi Naian and Luo Guanzhong in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties on the basis of widely circulated folk tales, scripts and operas. However, there is no unified version in history, but there are multiple versions with different contents. The most influential ones are the 100-chapter version and the 120-chapter version, as well as the 70-chapter version abridged by Jin Shengtan in the early Qing Dynasty.
