Southern Shaolin Storm
About This Novel
The novel takes the national crisis during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty as the background and tells the legendary journey of Chen Heming, the founder of Wuzu Quan. After the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War, Chen Heming, who had been traveling for ten years, returned to Quanzhou and met Hongmen patriot Fang Shijie, Wing Chun heroine Lin Qiaoer and Southern Shaolin monk Tie Luohan. The four of them formed an alliance because of their martial arts aspirations and were involved in the anti-Qing revolution. They led Nalan Yuanshu at the first defeat of the Qing Dynasty at Qingyuan Mountain, participated in a secret meeting of the Revolutionary Party at Xichan Temple in Fuzhou, and even formed an alliance in the Nanyang Chuanquan Zhigongtang, where they melted the essence of Nanquan into the Five Ancestor Quan. From the Taiwan Anti-Japanese War to the Huanghuagang Uprising, Chen Heming witnessed the sacrifices of his comrades, and gradually grew from a martial arts seeker to a master of martial arts. In the end, he returned to Quanzhou after the Wuchang Uprising and protected the integrity of the nation with the inheritance of Five Ancestor Fist, explaining the true meaning of "Fighting is not about strength but integrity, and people are not about reputation." The novel combines real history and martial arts imagination, depicts the choices made by warriors in troubled times amid hatred between their country and their family, and demonstrates the symbiosis of Southern Shaolin martial arts and revolutionary spirit.
