A Gentleman is Like a Lotus
by La La La La
About This Novel
The elder brother is the eldest son of the Marquis. His conduct is as pure as a lotus, simple and elegant. Others praise him as a gentleman, unlike me who is full of fame and wealth and smells like copper. I was working hard to make a living in the business field, but my brother gave the treasure in my house to the janitor and asked him to pawn it to buy a few jugs of wine to keep warm. My brother scolded me for doing whatever it takes to get yellow and white goods, but he never refused my subsidized family income. On the way to exile when the whole family was implicated, the elder brother met an orphan girl and insisted on taking her to stay in the motorcade. I advised my brother that this person had an unknown origin and was afraid of being plotted against me, but my brother scolded me for being hard-hearted. Later, I was kidnapped by robbers led by an orphan girl, and I begged my brother to save me. But my brother just looked at me calmly: "If you want to blame me, it's your own cruelty. You can't blame anyone else." And my brother fell in love with the orphan girl and became the thief's aide. I died in a dark prison, beaten with a whip all night, and finally breathed my last at dawn. When I opened my eyes again, I was transported back to the time when my brother gave my treasure to the caretaker.
