About This Novel

"Chu Ci" is a collection of works by Chu poet Qu Yuan and his later scholars during the Warring States Period. When he became emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Xiang compiled ancient books and compiled their works into a book, named "Chu Ci". From then on, "Chu Ci" became the name of a collection. This is the first personal monograph collection of poems in the history of our country, and is listed as the two major sources of Chinese poetry along with the Book of Songs. Qu Yuan has the largest number of works in "Chu Ci", and the most representative works are Qu Yuan's "Li Sao", "Nine Songs", "Heavenly Questions", etc. Song Yu's "Nine Debates" is also a work that has a great influence on later generations. "Selected Songs of Chu" selects the representative works of Qu Yuan and Song Yu. The annotations are concise and the translation is clear, making it suitable for general readers.
