About This Novel
Thirty-eight-year-old Chen Fang is an ordinary middle-aged man squeezed between work and family. He rushed to work as usual on the morning of his birthday, but faced the company's layoff crisis. His father suddenly became seriously ill and required surgery, and his wife resigned silently to bear everything for the family. He was used to holding on alone and escaping silently, struggling and tensed amidst workplace pressure, family guilt, and marital estrangement. It was not until his father had surgery, the project was tackled, and his family were honest with each other that he finally took off his disguise and learned to face the embarrassment of life. From a middle-aged man who was afraid to go home and unwilling to talk, he regained his responsibility as a husband and son, and completed a gentle and heavy self-salvation in the daily fireworks.
