About This Novel

I was posted on the official account of a local family mediation program by my newly married daughter-in-law. She accused me, a "lonely old woman", of being too controlling, forcing them to run back to their old house in the suburbs every week to perform a "Hongmen Banquet" with me, where "a mother is kind and her son is filial". But when my three children got married and bought a house, I paid a down payment for each of them. I have never asked for anything else. My only expectation is that they can come back and have a hot meal with me every week. The whole Internet was calling me the "evil mother-in-law of the new era." I was too lazy to argue, so I simply published a statement in the newspaper: "In response to the voices of my children and respecting my personal time, the old house under my name is put up for sale today, and all the proceeds will be used for my stay in a high-end retirement community and subsequent travel around the world." As soon as the statement came out, the three families were completely shocked. My children blocked the door of the nursing home, crying and begging me to exchange that "home" back.
