On New Year's Eve, my father almost beat my mother to death because she was slow in preparing food. "You can't have a baby, can't you cook? Why would I spend so much money to marry you?" I couldn't see it and rushed towards him with a knife. He didn't kill me. Then I realized that he wanted to sell me. I simply died with them. When I woke up again, I traveled back to the Spring Festival in the late 1980s and met my still young mother. I approached her as a close older sister, protected her from being bullied by her classmates, brought her to my side, and led her to fight against her parents who favored sons over daughters. My father, who disliked my mother in his previous life, was attracted to my mother when he saw her changes. He pursued my mother, but I interrupted him. "Where did that toad come from? The stink is hitting me."
