Dad, Can You Love Me Once?
by Birds Perching On Southern Branches
About This Novel
Mornings at home are always noisy, especially at the dining table. The eldest brother felt that the soy milk was too hot when he drank it, and the second sister complained that the egg custard was too old. Dad kicked my chair away and put the last fried dough stick into my brother's bowl. "I just know how to eat. I didn't hear your sister say that the egg custard is too old! Go and steam a bowl for her again!" I got up obediently, but a bowl was placed on my head. The custard was so hot that my scalp hurt. "Dad is talking to you, are you mute?! Why is there such an uneducated person like you in our family?" I smiled and said I was sorry. I knew I was wrong. I turned around and steamed the custard for my sister again. The chopsticks are very long. Almost impossible to hold. A pack of tissues flew past my face. "Be gentle when beating eggs! You're not big, but you have a bad temper! If you make any noise, I'll throw you out!" Then I became completely quiet. But my father hugged me tightly and refused to let go no matter who pulled me. "Ziyan, dad doesn't want you to leave!"
