About This Novel
Chekhov is a world-class master of short stories in Russia and the last critical realist art master in Russia in the late 19th century. Together with the French writer Maupassant and the American writer O. Henry, he is known as one of the "three major short story writers in the world". This collection collects three short stories and a novella. "Baby" describes a loving and pure girl. In "Three Years", the author euphemistically but harshly touches on the pain points of commodity society, such as loveless marriages in merchant families.
