About This Novel
In the autumn of the eighth year of the Republic of China, Xinghua Coal Mine Co., Ltd. Engaged in large-scale mining of the Liujiawa coalfield in the old Yellow River basin, causing mining earthquakes and surface subsidence. At the beginning, about ten hectares of land collapsed and there were three or two deserted areas. The villagers went to the company to make trouble. Later, the two parties planned to jointly agree on a compensation agreement. However, the company used the excuse that money was tight at the beginning of the mine and did not fulfill the promise. In February of the ninth year, the land continued to fall. The area of collapse meanders from Xihezhai in the northeast of Qingquan County to Dongyuan Town in the neighboring county. Symptoms of subsidence can be seen everywhere: the land is uneven, with differences in height ranging from tens to several feet. Civilian graves on the ground were also affected, coffins were taken out, and bones were exposed in the open.
