In the third year after my girlfriend fell into a coma, I became a cold Buddhist in Beijing circles who was not close to women. People in my circle were laughing at me behind my back, saying that I was so crazy about a woman that I even kept my body as pure as jade, eating fast and chanting Buddha's name. I was neither annoyed nor angry. I held my prayer beads and knelt down devoutly in front of the Buddha, praying for her to wake up soon. That night, Buddha fell into a dream and asked me to exchange my life for another. I agreed without any hesitation. Later, she finally woke up and threw herself into Bai Yueguang's arms. Seeing them cuddling together, I squeezed the beads in my hand tightly. Suddenly there was a "pop" sound and the beads string was disconnected, and the beads were scattered on the floor. Staring at the beads on the ground, I laughed at myself, "When the beads are broken, the fate is over..." I arranged everything and escaped into Buddhism.
