About This Novel
As a person born in the 1980s and a small figure in this great era, the protagonist Gu Fan, like all his peers, has witnessed the changes in China's reform and opening up for more than 30 years from their own different perspectives. The first part of the novel records anecdotes about Gu Fan's journey from kindergarten to university in the form of flashbacks, along with the city of Beijing and the social memories of that era. The middle part of the novel is Gu Fan's personal career and emotional experience. The second part of the novel tells the story of Gu Fan's experience of switching to 360 and starting his own business. The entire novel, with a total of 200,000 words, touches on China's political and business relations, personal career development, institutional environment and many social issues to varying degrees.
