Summer Wings
by Lin Sihan
About This Novel
"Summer Wings" weaves a summer dream full of innocence and warmth from the perspective of students at Jinfeng Experimental Primary School in Xiangcheng. The story begins with the afternoon time spent by the grandfather and grandson under the old locust tree - the sticky heat, the fragrance of gardenias, the calloused but gentle hands of grandma, and the child's innocent questioning of "flying", which delicately outlines the palpable warmth of childhood. When the child falls asleep amid the chirping of cicadas, a magical flight journey slowly unfolds: in the new city of 2077, transparent wings carry her over the roof of the vegetable market, the playground made of clouds, through the eye of the hurricane and the aurora, and even flies to the starry sky and Mars. The wings in the dream are a symbol of courage, taking her to touch the vastness and wonder of the world, and every figure she meets along the way - the tofu seller, the astronaut, the ordinary people who make silent sacrifices, all contain the simplest power in life. In the end, the iced watermelon handed over by her grandma brought her back to reality, and the child suddenly understood: those invisible "wings" have never been absent - grandma's love, the kindness of strangers, and the courage in our hearts have already taken us through loneliness and hardship. The story is based on the campus memories of Jinfeng Primary School, interweaving childlike fantasy with warm reality, and telling the growth philosophy of "where the heart has wings, the journey has no boundaries".
