It is rare to find an author who writes good prose these days. Zhang Erdong is one of them.
Read the entire book in one sitting. Erdong's writing style is very personal and charming, and it feels like you can see the words as if you were seeing the face. From his daily gardening, watering flowers, feeding chickens and geese, the grass and trees in front of his door, the starry sky, his interactions with neighbors, and his daily reflections, I seemed to have entered his lonely planet. There is a mountain there, and there is a house on the mountain. There is a person living in the house, there are dogs, cats, chickens, geese, and poems. There will be heavy snowfall in winter, surrounded by cicadas in summer, a bright red rose is drying naked on the wall there, and the flowers there are blooming with sound...
The physical book is 29, but this e-book is 34!
I have always liked Erdong. I wanted to read the book as soon as it came out, but the price really made me uncomfortable.
I read some details outside the mountains and wilderness. This is something that each of us will experience. It is related to eating, drinking, sleeping, and cannot be ignored.
