About This Novel
This book is the eighteenth volume of the Harvard Classics Series - "Modern British Drama". The "modern" referred to here refers to the era division method of the era in which the author of this book lived. Now called "classicism". "The Hate Song" is Shelley's famous tragedy. This five-act tragedy should be an excellent example of British morality drama. Shelley created this play based on a real case that happened in Italian history. In the play, Shelley uses concise clues and poetic language to not only reveal the beauty and ugliness of human nature, but also describes how "divine power", "monarchy" and "patriarchy" lead to this catastrophe step by step.
