About This Novel

This book is guided by the concept of emotion as the basis and closely follows the issue of the characteristics of Chinese literature explained in "Human Words". It discusses four aspects: emotion is the ontology of Chinese literature, the artistic realm of life is the subjective spiritual condition that achieves the characteristics of Chinese literature, the objectification of inner emotions is the poetic discourse structure, and the integration of Taoism and art is the ultimate state of Chinese literature and art. It is divided into five chapters, based on the connotation of "realm" in "Human Words", and adopts a general-part-general structure. That is, the first chapter explains Wang Guowei's inheritance and development of the traditional Chinese ontology of emotion, which is the basis and summary of the whole book; Chapters 2, 3, and 4 are based on the ontology of emotion from the two perspectives of literary subject and literary text. The elaboration of the characteristics of Chinese literature summarized in "Jianci Hua" is divided into three parts; the last chapter is a comprehensive improvement of the first four chapters, expounding the purest and most perfect integration of literature and art in the authentic emotion, the poetic discourse of literature and the aesthetic realm of life to reach the highest artistic realm of ambition - the realm of "Taoism and art as one".
