About This Novel

"The Sky of Expectation" is the first collection of prose poems written by the author after his retirement, expressing his pursuit of pastoral life and the realization of new dreams. There are four parts in total, namely "Flowing Fireflies", "Sky of Expectation", "Whispering in the Wind" and "Collection of Flying Catkins", with more than 120,000 words. It mainly writes about the author's thoughts, loves and hates while pursuing field life after retirement and living in the frontier fortress, as well as memories and reflections on the past, hoping to realize the literary dream of his youth in his later years. The author of "Flowing Fireflies" starts from the beautiful love, and uses the characteristics of Liuying as a metaphor for the author's longing for love, his abandonment of the women he meets, and his fear of stepping out of the shackles of worldly love at dusk. His inner pain and struggle, as well as his dissatisfaction and criticism of the world, reflect the author's ambivalence about longing for the woman in his heart to come to him or drift away.
