The "Devil of Florence" case occurred in the mountains on the outskirts of Florence between 1974 and 1985. The victims were a total of seven young couples (including a gay pair). The entire case investigation lasted for more than thirty years, involving tens of thousands of investigation subjects and dozens of suspects. Several of the suspects were detained for a long time but were released due to similar homicides. The case became a long-lasting, costly and unsolved serial murder case in the history of Italy and the world, with staggering police investment.
