About This Novel
Huang Tingjian (1045-1105), whose courtesy name was Lu Zhi, also known as Valley Taoist, and late as Fu Weng, was a native of Fenning, Hongzhou (now Xiushui County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province). He was a famous writer and calligrapher in the Northern Song Dynasty. He was the founder of the Jiangxi School of Poetry, which was very popular at one time. He was as famous as Su Shi and was also called "Su Huang". This anthology of poems is written by the famous modern scholar Pan Boying. The author selects more than 150 Huang poems and annotates them. The analysis of the artistic characteristics and achievements of Huang's poems is very insightful.
