About This Novel

The manuscript of this book was supplemented and revised by the author on the basis of "Explanation of Vocabulary in Notes of the Tang and Song Dynasties (Revised Edition)". In addition to correcting a small amount of content and textual errors, the main work is to add examples and entries. After revision, the headings of the main text of the manuscript have been increased from the original 300 to 339 items, and the subsections have been increased from the original 350 to 403 items. Examples have also been added to many original items. Among the newly added examples and entries, the scope of material collection has been expanded, dating back to the Six Dynasties and down to the Yuan and Ming Dynasties to communicate between medieval Chinese and modern Chinese. The article genre also includes prose forms other than notes.
