About This Novel

Du Fu (712-770), whose courtesy name was Zimei and whose nickname was Shaoling Yelao, was born in Gong County, Henan Province. He was an outstanding poet in the poetry world of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and was called "Li Du" together with Li Bai. Du Fu has a strong concern for reality and a spirit of caring for the people, so he is respected as the "Sage of Poetry" by the world. Many of his works touch on important historical events, so they are also called "poetic history".
