Also a doctor! Although small professional doctors rarely face the life and death of patients, they can still deeply understand the ambition of being on the same boat with patients and going to the front line together! Because of the child suffering from retinoblastoma, my parents and I hugged each other and cried together; because of the irreversible loss of vision due to neovascularization, I kept tapping my wrists and sighing; because the cataract surgery was complicated by endophthalmitis, which did not get better after half a year, the night before the eyeball was removed, I could not sleep... Facing death and disease, as a doctor, I will be helpless and grieved! Because I have experienced many ups and downs with patients, I love life even more and am grateful for everything! I often ask myself, if this was the last day, month, or year of my life, how would I choose and live... So, I often try my best to do what I want to do, no matter whether it is right or wrong in the eyes of the world! I hope my epitaph will be engraved with: Complete what you want and can do, have no regrets about yourself, and have a clear conscience!
Let every day of your life be full of meaning until the day your breath turns into air.
I read this book in the last days when my father was also suffering from lung cancer. Every step and every aspect of Paul's treatment recorded in the book seemed to describe every day I spent with my father during treatment. My father has reached the last stage of his life and relies on oxygen infusion. From being unable to accept it at the beginning, to now accompanying him day and night, I just hope to hold his father's hand and never let go...
Life and death are taboo topics for people, but I still think that thinking more about death will help us not be too pessimistic when facing death, and at the same time, we can better cherish the present and make our existence meaningful.
I have never read this type of book, but this book gave me a feeling of uncertainty and reluctance. While reading it, I felt afraid that I would suddenly finish reading it. It is a very real book.
Only when you are infinitely close to death can you understand the meaning of life
When I was young, I had a very indifferent view of death and would not think about it. When I get older, I will think about my elderly parents and young children, and I will really be unable to let go or let go.
Life is full of surprises, but you can realize the true meaning of death in life. You will feel that everything you do is worthwhile.
Touch the soul
This book was recommended by my university teacher. I originally planned to read it, but I saw the meaning of life. An ordinary but very great father figure was revealed. The persistence in front of him, as a doctor, his dedication to his profession, regardless of physical fatigue and fatigue, he always cared about the patients, and checked one by one. Even if he was plagued by illness, he persevered. When he was suppressed by the illness, he fought against it without any fear, so that he could stand up again, pick up the knife in his hand, and fight against death. When it comes again, I face it calmly and detachedly, but I feel reluctant to leave my family in my heart, but I have to face it, and I always show optimism and courage! An ordinary but very meaningful life should be widely known. Thank you thank you
Life and death have always been a sensitive topic. When the shadow of death suddenly comes over, who can be calm and composed? Especially patients with terminal illnesses and their families who know nothing about the disease can only hand themselves over to the doctor without reservation. If you know that even the doctor can't do anything, you may choose to live your last time well. Whether the doctor should tell the truth is the doctor's responsibility to the patient and his family. Face death, face reality, and choose to do what you want to do most in your last days...
