In 2030 AD, the predicted climate tipping point has not been late. The Antarctic ice sheet is collapsing at an unprecedented rate, and the crazy rise in sea levels swallowing up coastal cities is just the beginning of the disaster. What's even more frightening is that ancient pathogens that have been frozen for millions of years have resurfaced, and with the circulation of the atmosphere, they turn into deadly spore clouds and sweep across the world. Humans call it "crystal-eating virus". The method of infection is simple and hopeless - inhaling high concentrations of spores, or being bitten or scratched by those "crystal phages". Within an hour, the infected person's heart will completely crystallize and become a cold, hard crystal core that constantly emits a faint blue light.
