About This Novel

"A Dream of Forbidden Flowers" is a gripping time-travel novel about palace battles and intrigues. With its ups and downs of plot and delicate emotional portrayal, it leads readers into the mysterious and ever-changing palace world of the Great Sheng Dynasty. Su Yao, a graduate student in the Department of Modern History, accidentally traveled through time and became Su Wanxi, the daughter of General Zhenyuan, while studying ancient books from the Great Sheng Dynasty in the library, and was involved in the whirlpool of the court. When Su Wanxi first entered the palace, she faced open and secret fights among the beautiful ladies and the difficulties of the strict nuns. However, a chance encounter in the imperial garden led her to meet the incognito emperor Xiao Yichen, and the red threads of fate intertwined from then on. Their relationship gradually warmed up amidst the many tests in the palace, but it also attracted the jealousy and persecution of Concubine Shen and other forces. Concubine Shen came from a well-known family and was very scheming. She united the forces in the DPRK and China and framed Su Wanxi many times. Su Wanxi was thrown into the cold palace and suffered a lot of torture, but she and Xiao Yichen trusted each other and never left. Xiao Yichen secretly investigated and tried his best to clear Su Wanxi's innocence despite all opinions. Su Wanxi relied on modern knowledge and wisdom to not only gain a foothold in the complicated harem, but also helped Xiao Yichen gain insight into the situation in the court and join hands with him to fight against the forces behind Concubine Shen. In the process, the two became more and more deeply emotional and jointly dealt with power disputes. In the end, Concubine Shen's power collapsed, and Su Wanxi became the queen. Together with Xiao Yichen, she guarded the prosperous dynasty and wrote a legendary love and court legend.
