About This Novel
The train departing from Kyoto entered a long tunnel, and it suddenly became dark inside. When the train pulled out of the tunnel, my eyes suddenly lit up, and a sparkling lake came into view. When the train set off, there was still a patter of spring rain in the sky, but by this time the sky had cleared up, and the lake after the rain looked even more dazzling under the sunlight. This is Lake Biwa. As far as the eye can see along the lake, there are endless snow-capped mountains. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom all over the mountains and plains, as if there had been a heavy snowfall the night before; looking around, it looks like snow-capped mountains.
