About This Novel
"Kak, Kak" contains six representative short stories and short stories by Daur writer Sana. "The Sacred Tree of Dalema" tells the story of an old Daur woman who wanted to be buried in the forest, so she fought tactfully to protect the forest and the custom of wind burial. In "Kak, Kak", the boy and the bear have the same name. The novel uses the name as a symbol to metaphor the fragile and mysterious connection between humans and animals. "Searching for Vera" explores the eternity of the soul, faith and family memory through the life and death journey of the shaman Vera. "Winter Hunting Camp" focuses on the Shilu tribe in the Daxinganling Mountains in northern China. It tells the story of San Shitou, a hunter who protects reindeer and hunting culture in the gap between traditional mountain life and the impact of modern civilization, but ultimately witnesses the tribe withering away under the erosion of the outside world. The novel is a reminder of the lost world. If you listen carefully, the novel contains the breathing of the trees, the whisper of the river, and the footsteps of the reindeer.
