An Examination of the Chinese Culture of People from the Western Regions of the Yuan Dynasty (chinese Culture Series·classic Accompanying)
by Written By Chen Yuan And Read By Chen Zhichao
About This Novel
This book is an early representative work by Mr. Chen Yuan, a leading historian in my country. It examines the gradual assimilation of the Western Regions (Semu people) who entered the Central Plains in the Yuan Dynasty from various aspects such as literature, Confucianism, Buddhism, art, etiquette, etc., And shows the advanced nature and vitality of the Central Plains culture at that time. The book is rich in information, detailed in research, has high academic value, and is a classic of its generation. At the front of the book is an "Introduction" written by Professor Chen Zhichao, Chen Yuan's grandson, explaining the book's writing background, main content, international influence, changes in editions, etc.

This book was of great help in changing the national outlook of the Yuan Dynasty.
Although this book is not long, its writing style is profound and logically rigorous. Concepts such as "Western Regions" and "Huahua" are well defined from the very beginning and are quite reasonable. This shows the author's rigorous academic attitude. Coupled with rich historical data research, the whole book is full of powerful persuasive momentum. I think more importantly, this book is of great significance to us in establishing a correct view of dynasties, both when it was written and today. If you read this book carefully, you will not arbitrarily regard the Yuan Dynasty as a barbaric era, or even exclude it from Chinese history.
