About This Novel
This book is the lecture notes used by the author when he taught the course "Modern European History" at the History Department of Peking University from the 9th to the 11th year of the Republic of China. It is loosely based on the second volume of "Outline of European History" written by two famous American historians, Robinson and Beard, and is based on "Modern European History" written by the two famous historians. The time span is from the beginning of the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century, showing the development of European society, economy, culture and other aspects over the past three hundred years, in order to achieve the purpose of understanding the past and the present.
