About This Novel

I don't know when the wind started to blow outside the window again. The wind came and went, and came and went, like a hungry and restless lion, spinning and roaring. The prisoners in the prison cell didn't seem to feel the stronger wind blowing outside at all, and the knocking sound of the door panel was even more insignificant to them. As the temperature outside dropped, the chill in the room also increased. I put on the embroidered cotton-padded jacket, sat beside the small bed, and took out a piece of beef jerky from under the pillow. Before I could bring it to my mouth, a pale hand like an eagle's claw snatched it away. "It's so damn delicious! This beef jerky, um, smells good!" The woman chewed and swallowed hard, and slurred with her lips smacking. I stared closely at her bulging cheeks, stood up and put my right hand in front of her mouth.
