About This Novel
The book begins with Ding Xiao, gradually narrates the stories of Zhu Hongdeng and Shangguan Jin, and then ends with Ding Xiao's story. It also adds the historical background of Zhu Hongdeng's founding of the Boxer Rebellion and the background of his plan to "support the Qing Dynasty and destroy the foreign countries".
