About This Novel

Those who have discussed Yan Yanzhi in the past have mostly focused on his poetic achievements and ignored his writing. This book avoids the method of studying Yan Yanzhi's poetry and analyzes Yan Yanzhi's "wen". It studies the reasons why Yan Yanzhi has been misunderstood in the history of literature. It studies the existing thirty-six Yan Yanzhi's Yan Yan essays by stylistic classification and content classification. It also explores the six aspects of Yan Yanzhi's characteristics and their causes, the influence of Yan Yanzhi, etc. But it does not include Yan Yanzhi's Buddhist works and his translations. The Yan inscriptions cited are all from the "Complete Antiquity, Three Dynasties, Qin, Han, Three Kingdoms and Six Dynasties" compiled by Yan Kejun in the Qing Dynasty. We strive to make a relatively complete overview of the existing Yan inscriptions and have a more accurate interpretation and positioning.
