The cases described in this book have twists and turns and bizarre plots that are no less than those of ordinary public case novels, with rich characters and sophisticated artistic skills. However, their historical and practical significance is far superior to that of ordinary public case novels. This is also the reason why people have regarded it as both a novel and a historical material for a long time. "Lan Gongan" was written by the author shortly after he was impeached and dismissed from office, recalling some of the cases he handled during his tenure in Puning and Chaoyang counties. The content covered includes various aspects, such as "Reforming the A Book" and "Lin Military Advisor", etc., Which describe the punishment and attack on the illegal government servants and litigants who oppressed the people, and "Ancient Coffins Commitment" and other chapters describe his measures to get rid of superstition.
