About This Novel
The boy Digory and the girl Polly like adventure. They accidentally enter the laboratory of Digory's uncle Andrew, a lame and selfish magician. In order to experiment with his magic, he used the magic ring to send Digory and Polly to a mysterious woods, which can lead to various worlds. Through the magic of the ring, the two children arrived in the dying world of Charn City. Out of curiosity, Digore awakens the evil witch, Queen Jadis. The witch once used an extermination spell to turn the Kingdom of Charn into a desolate city and exterminated all living creatures there. She followed her two children to London.
