About This Novel
In a village in Northeast China in the 1990s, two evil incidents happened in a row: In 1992, villager Tian Youfu's black bull came back to life. A slaughtered black cow returns to life in the middle of the night and wants to take its owner to the gate of hell. In 1994, villager Zhao Xianglan gave birth to a fetus. A ewe that could call mom went up the mountain to return the sun and gave birth to a baby girl from the sheep's belly. Animal spirits are causing trouble, and there is no peace. After that, all the livestock in the village, including chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cattle, horses, donkeys, sheep, etc., All ate and lived in the house with the people. The villagers treat these animals like guests, and all animals have a higher status than humans. In order to get rid of superstition, two policemen came to this forgotten mountain village. They didn't know that a pair of mysterious eyes had already stared at them.

After reading the Phantom of the Village series many years ago, I have never read a novel similar to a rural crime-solving story. I am particularly interested in themes set in rural areas. Due to the limitations of the times, investigative work can only be done through interviews and investigations. The countryside has rural folk customs, which makes reading unique. This novel is very interesting, but the ending is a bit rushed!
